Casa Claire, aka Casa de Mosca
We have been enjoying each day in Merida. Yesterday was one of the highlights as we toured Celestun, the winter home of thousands of beautiful flamingos, pelicans, and many other waterbirds that migrate from the US and Canada to spend the winter here in the warm weather. The one big negative to staying in Casa Claire has been mosquitos or moscas as they call them here. I call them something else, but this is a family friendly blog, so I won't go there. I have been bitten by so many moscas that I may well need a quart of fresh blood when I get home. A word to future travelers, pack lots of insect repellent, but don't expect any of them to work very well, and make sure your casa or wherever you stay has good screens to keep the little buggers at bay!
